Prague PostgreSQL Developers' Day 2010
A few photos from Prague PostgreSQL Developers' day 2010. Presentations were held by me about monitoring PostgreSQL performance, Tomas Emresz spoke about using Delphi and PostgreSQL to develop web applications, Pavel Baros presented his effort to implement support for materialized views, Julius Stroffek described a project for small company-wide search engine based on PostgreSQL. Zdenek Kotala gave a short lecture about PostgreSQL internals and Pavel Hak from Jyxo demonstrated how the new "hot standby" replication works. The last lecture was about a completely different kind of database - non-relational, schema-less document-oriented database CouchDB, held by Karel Minarik.
CZJUG - January 2010
CZJUG meeting in January 2010 was influenced by growing slim, which is quite common in this part of the year, so instead of the usual 45-minute talks it consisted of several "lightning talks" of up to 7 minutes. Well, some of them were not related to Java (e.g. two or three talks were about Javascript) but it was interesting.

CZJUG - October 2009
First CZJUG meeting at MFF UK. Burr Sutter (Red Hat / JBoss) arrived with an interesting presentation about "Blending the worlds of REST, SOA and CEP" summarizing current state of SOA. Petr Ferschmann then explained some details of "Practical REST API implementation" related to their product WinStrom - see an article at zdrojak.cz (in czech). The presentation records are available at mediacast.sun.com (Burr Sutter's presentation and Petr Ferschmann's presentations) - it was to my first experience with recording such events, so not everything was perfect.
